Our first meet-up for 2026 is again to be held at Windgate Art Complex, the metals studio at Eastern Michigan University (EMU), Ypsilanti, MI on Sunday, January 18, from 1:00-3:00. The jewelry department shares space with the sculpture department in this light-filled, modern facility that you will definitely want to see. As per our standards, the Meet-Up will cover brief introductions, a short tour of the jewelry studio, and time for networking and sharing:
Show off new creations; tell us how they were made
Share what we’re working on - successes/challenges/frustrations
Get feedback from fellow metalsmiths
Discuss new techniques, resources and upcoming events
You will need to pay for parking on arrival, but on the bright side, its only 20 feet from the studio entrance - not bad for cold January days.
Start the year off right, and attend a meeting of your peers. It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded metals aficionados and to see familiar faces, so grab a friend or two and stop on by.
Light snacks will be provided, and you are also welcome to bring your own snacks.

Our March Meet Up at CCS in Detroit on March 8, 2026 is in planning. Look for more information on that meeting in February. Also, we are always looking for venues throughout the state to hold meet ups as well as other reasons to come together; we welcome your suggestions. Please let us know if you have any ideas.
